Bangkok’s Patpong Night Market
A Market for Tourists
This bustling night market, which can be found in Bangkok’s oldest red-light district, is located on Soi Patpong close to Si Lom Road.
If you’re arriving from BTS Siam Station, you could get down at Sala Daeng station and exit from one of the stairs at the right. If you follow the line of vendors down the sidewalk, you can reach Patpong Market (opens at 5 pm) in about 5 minutes.
Usually, Patpong Night Market is exclusive to tourists, so you shouldn’t expect to see any locals shopping here. Also, you wouldn’t find a lot of street-food stalls here, which are usually a big part of a typical night market in Thailand. However, you’d find a lot of a limited choice of Thai food dishes outside the night market area.
Things to Buy
You will find a range of goods that are targeted at tourists at Patpong Night Market including artfully-pained coconut-shell bowls, colourful luminaries, and even clothing from counterfeit designer brands.
