Bangkok is possibly on the bucket list of every wannabe traveller, and it should be. One of the regions that stand out in this vibrant city is Petchburi Road. It stretches from New Petchburi on the east all the way to the west side of Bangkok and is easily one of the longest roads in all of Bangkok. The fact this it is located nearby to important cities such as Pratunam, Siam and Chidlom-Ploenchit adds to its appeal.
When choosing your accommodation, you’ll see that in Petchburi Road, hotels of all sizes galore. The likes of AVANI Atrium Bangkok place you near to many of the area’s attractions. Be it dining, entertainment or shopping Petchburi Road serves up plenty of options.
Petchburi Road is dotted with plenty of budget food joints, street-side cuisine vendors, and even gourmet restaurants to suit your preference of the moment. Since tourists and locals stroll along the road till late night, many of the street stalls too remain open into the early hours. If you ask the trendy crowd in Bangkok for a restaurant recommendation, most would point you towards Iata Chinese Restaurant where the fabulous dishes range from Peking duck and beef hot plate to Roasted Goose Feet in Clay Pot, Deep Fried Pigeon with Chinese wine and hot/cold hors d’oeuvres. Kobe Steakhouse, one of Bangkok’s finest Japanese Teppanyaki restaurants too is located on Petchburi Road.
The region is also one of Bangkok’s finest for shopping, be it for clothing, accessories, souvenirs, and/or electronics. The crown jewel of Petchburi Road and possibly all of Bangkok is Platinum Shopping Mall, home to over 1,000 shops on 4 floors. Put your bargaining skills to practice and you may even walk away with discounts as big as 30%. Some of the spots to indulge in retail therapy are Palladium World Shopping Mall, Pantip Plaza IT Mall, Shibuya 19 and City Complex.
When travelling to Bangkok, aim to spend ample time in Petchburi Road to get the most out of your travel experience.
