The Museum

The museum which was established in 2012, is a sophisticated space filled with lots of natural light and ample space for art lovers to take in the creations which are both beautiful and thought provoking.

Location

The MOCA is located on Vibhavadi Rangsit, Chatuchak and is within easy distance of many a Bangkok apartment hotel in the vicinity including the likes of Adelphi Forty-Nine. The best way to reach the five storied gallery is by a taxi or private vehicle.

Things to See

A must visit destination for art lovers, the MOCA showcases the works of an eclectic mix of Thai Artists of different mediums. A few that stand out would be Prateep Kotchabua’s paintings which are characterised by the bold use of colours and astounding attention to detail. His work often features traditional aspects of the Thai community which are fast disappearing. Other artists include Chelermchai Kositpipat and two of Thailand’s most famous and revered artists, Chalood Nimsamer and the late Paitun Mauangsomboo.

General Information

The museum is open to the public from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday. The entrance fee is 180 baht for the public while it is 80 baht for students. For visitors under the age of 15 and over 60, entrance is free.
