Wat Pho

Also referred to as ‘The Temple of the Reclining Buddha’, Wat Pho houses the magnificent golden statue of Lord Buddha which is one of the most iconic monuments one cannot miss! Furthermore, the temple is one of the oldest massage and traditional Thai medicine schools that exists even to date!

Wat Saket

Wat Saket is a man-made hill with approximately 318 steps that take you right up to the chedi clad in gold. The gardens are filled with shady trees that cool the area and also a few Buddha statues here and there. On your way to the peak you will come across age-old prayer bells, once you get there, the view of the city is wonderous. You will find that climbing all those steps were worth it after all!

The Metal Castle

Loha Prasat or The Metal Castle is a unique temple in Bangkok. This is said to be the only building of its kind in the entire world! The 37 steeples embody the 37 virtues that are necessary to reach enlightenment in Buddhism. If you are planning your stay in Bangkok city hotels, the likes of AVANI Atrium Bangkok for example, this site is just minutes away.

Wat Traimit

Wat Traimit is renowned for its solid gold Buddha statue that happens to be 10 feet tall and weighing 5.5 tons. Therefore, Wat Traimit is also called ‘The Temple of the Golden Buddha’. The statue was initially covered in plaster for centuries to avoid it being stolen, the true golden statue was discovered in the late 90s.
