The Grand Palace

A famed site in the Thai capital, the 18th century Grand Palace is a sprawling complex with stunningly designed pavilions and halls. Around a 25-minute drive from Maitria Residence Rama 9 Bangkok, it’s a great place to explore and is also where one will find the Wat Phra Kaew or Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Jim Thompson House

Referred to as the “Thai Silk King”, the late James H.W. Thompson’s home is worth visiting when staying at a hotel or service apartment in Bangkok. The house is a traditional structure built from teak and those taking the guided tour will find many fascinating artworks, antique statues, ornately carved furniture, vibrant silk and even age-old looms.

One of the most famous temples in Bangkok, the Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn, is an unmissable sight on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. This temple features a 70-metre spire that has been intricately decorated with Chinese porcelain and coloured glass and is especially beautiful when lit up at night.
