Khlong Thom Waterfall

A natural Jacuzzi in the wilds of Thailand.

Visit Thailand’s Krabi Province near the Andaman coast. Surrounded by steeply vertical limestone karsts and shady mangroves forests you will find its capital, the resort town of Krabi. Luxury resort properties come with stunning views. You can enjoy the idyllic waterfront location from a distance or venture out to discover private islands and coral reefs that are alive with dancing tropical fish. Only an hour’s drive from the Krabi International Airport is Anantara Si Kao Resort, a family friendly property in a picturesque setting.

The Khlong Thom Waterfall is located in Krabi, close to Trang’s border. It is a waterfall with a difference. Hot springs and cool streams come together and cascade over boulders in small showers of warm water. Though opening hours are from 8am to 5pm, plan to visit between the hours of 7am and 8am or 4pm to 5pm to catch the waterfall at its best. It is a fifty seven kilometre journey to Amphoe Khlong Thom from the town. Alternatively, you can opt to take a boat ride from Trang’s Pak Meng Pier, which will take an hour and a half to two hours. Admission is charged at 90 baht per adult. It is best to avoid weekends and public holidays, when there are many visitors to Khlong Thom Waterfall and there is not much space to enjoy the warm pools.

There are a number of natural hollows in the creek with water running over them, forming small pools that you can sit in and enjoy a hot tub like experience. The waterfall is surrounded by shady trees in a leafy forest. You can expect to experience pleasant, soothing temperatures between forty to fifty degrees Celsius while listening to the sound of the gushing, burbling water in the background.
