You’re all excited for your holiday to Bangkok, the dazzling capital city of Thailand, but there’s one thing that you’re worried about- your fitness! With so many holidays, so much of good food and cheap beer, it’s hard to concentrate on staying fit and keeping to your strict diet. So here’s what to do to keep fit in Bangkok.

Run, Run, Run!

Even in the middle of the urban jungle of Bangkok, there are quite a few spots to hit for you to run, jog and burn those calories you gained from eating Thai Deep-Fried Chicken and whatnot. The best is Lumphini Park. Originally a royal property, Lumphini Park has many jogging tracks, open public space, trees, playgrounds and even an artificial lake where you can rent boats. Other parks to head over for a run are the Santiphap Park, Chatuchak Park, Suan Luang Rama IX Park and the Benjakiti Park.

Work it Out!

There’s nothing as sweating it out at a gym to boost fitness. A hotel in Bangkok, especially a luxury one like the AVANI Atrium Bangkok, features a gym as part of their facilities. If it doesn’t don’t worry, there are other options. The Jungle Gym at Lumphini Park is an open air gymnasium which is free to use. There are free weights, machines and a bench press that is made out with an unusual alternative for weights- large truck tires!

Kick it off!

Here’s something for the daring souls. Try out Muay Thai, a combat sport originated in Thailand that uses various clinching techniques and stand up strikes. This ancient art includes a combat on shins that is called “the art of eight limbs”. If you’re interested in trying out this exciting boxing art, head over to F.A. Group Muay Thai Gym, Meenayothin Muay Thai Gym or Sasiprapa Muay Thai Gym.
