36 Hours in Bangkok: How to Spend 3 Days in Thailand’s Bustling Capital

Bangkok is a city like no other. Full of life and colour, it’s a place that may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but you soon get used to it. The tourist appeal of the Thai capital cannot be described – it can only be experienced. If you’re here for a quick getaway, this is how to make the most of it.
Best Time to Go
The best time to visit Bangkok is during the cool season, from November to February. During these months, the weather is beautiful, and there are many festivals to enjoy. If you want to avoid the crowds, however, visit during the rainy season, from May to October. The rain doesn’t last long, and you’ll find plenty of time to be outdoors.
Places to Stay
Whatever your budget, you can find a comfortable place to stay in Bangkok. Remember, you only have three days, so choose a place that’s close to the city’s attractions. How about a Bangkok hotel with view? Take a look at NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard.
Day 1
Bangkok’s street markets are a key part of the city’s character. Start your getaway with visits to these markets. Head to Chatuchak Weekend Market, where you can find everything from food to clothes to souvenirs. In the evening, explore Asiatique or Rot Fai Market – or maybe both.
Day 2
Bangkok is home to some of the most famous temples in Thailand. Spend your second day exploring them. Must-visit temples include the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun.

Day 3
On your last day in Bangkok, visit Khao San Road, known for its chaotic atmosphere and backpacker culture. It’s a great place to enjoy some street food and buy gifts to take home. Follow up your Khao San Road visit with a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River to enjoy the city from the water.
