Thailand is one of the most culturally rich countries in the South East Asia. It holds a unique position in the region, as a country that remained unaffected by the strong colonizing powers of Europe in the early centuries. Made up of around 96% Thai, 2% Burmese, and other ethnic groups such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Khmer, Hmong, and Mein, as the balance, Thailand is diverse in its ethnicity and culture. However, the most important and prominent cultural values of Thai people have emerged with a strong background in Buddhist philosophy. Self-control, respect for elders and for those ahead of you in the social hierarchy, and friendly attitude are the essentials among moral values of the people in the country.
